IOpipe alerts can help your team troubleshoot critical issues within your serverless stack.
An alert applies to a single project and single monitored serverless function. You can create multiple alerts in a single workflow.
The first step is to choose the project you want to create alert(s) for.
Next, you'll select 1 or more functions to create alerts for.
Then, you'll add 1 or more rules that will define your alert. If 1 or more of those rules evaluates to TRUE, your alert will transition to ALARM and you'll be notified. The status of the alert will inform the overall health of your function.
After you add rules, you're ready to add alert hooks.
You can add 1 or more hooks to your alert that will be notified if your alert has a notable state transition. There are 3 states your alert can be in, ALARM, OK, and INITIAL. In the case of webhook and lambda function hooks, you can deal with the state transition data however you deem fit. Read more about alert hooks.
Lastly, you'll give your alert a name. This name will apply to every alert created per function chosen, so choose wisely!
After you've finished, you'll be redirected back to the alerts page where you'll most likely see that your new alert is initializing. This simply means it hasn't been evaluated yet. Wait a minute or two, and your alert will transition to OK or ALARM.
👏 Congrats! You just increased the health visibility of your team's serverless stack!
